Community Dinners

The space where sharing and listening create meaningful conversations

Alexandra Roxana Popa

When I decided to move back from London to Romania, I felt I would miss the abundance of interesting people I was surrounded by.

Most of my meaningful relationships were spread all over the world and I was afraid I would not find the sense of belonging in the city I had left a few years ago.

But I was also sure there were a lot of interesting people in Bucharest as well, sharing the same values as mine. Inviting them over for dinner in a structured environment would create the space to share learnings, ideas and have meaningful conversations.

Community Dinners started as an initiative to bring together mindful professionals with different backgrounds (from CEOs and entrepreneurs to journalists and NGOs founders) to share their learnings on a topic they had relevant experience on. The space encourages guests to be fully human, with both their strengths as well as their vulnerabilities.

The topics range widely from “What makes leadership great”, “How much we work for impact versus profit” to “What makes our work meaningful” or “The solitude of the leader”.

It is a space of curiosity, meaningful sharing, multidimensional growth, generous listening, kindness, joy and the power of belonging to a group of like-minded people.

This group became a community where we stay connected on relevant topics, we meet to share challenges and ideas and we gather to celebrate the habit of sharing and learning from others.

If you want to participate in one of the dinners or recommend someone else to, please leave more information below.

We aim for a very curated community instead of a very big one.

As professionals who took part in these dinners and found significant value in the format, I was invited to facilitate similar events for companies that go through team changes, mergers or need a safe space to explore topics related to values, strategy or team strengths.

If you manage teams that are in search of a way to become stronger together or work more meaningfully as a group, let’s explore how we can create a semi informal setting to do so.

Does this sound interesting for you or for your company? Do you want to take part in one of these dinners or have one facilitated for your team? Fill in the details below:
